Dr. Sandeep Wasnik, is a Joint Replacement and Orthopaedic surgeon. He has completed his post graduation, MS (Orthopaedics) from KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College. He is a SICOT fellow specializing in adult hip and knee replacement surgeries. He has done his fellowship from esteemed Mannheim Medical University Germany, with specialization in knee arthroplasty, and advanced fellowships from Germany’s Carl Gustav University specializing in complex Hip Replacement surgeries. He has undergone training in various places like ITALY, AUSTRALIA, and BELGIUM with stalwarts of joint replacement surgeries.

He has been passionate not just about the practice but also sharing the knowledge and making efforts in R&D, with the single goal of increasing success rate and longevity of the surgeries. He has an experience of more than 2000 successful hip and knee replacements surgeries, and more than 800 Robotic knee replacement surgeries. He is the first surgeon in India to perform complex Hip Replacement Surgery using Reclaim™ Implant technology for direct single replacement from hip till the knee joint. He uses modern technology in Knee replacement surgeries to offer the highest safety standards.

He is also the one of the few surgeons globally performing Total knee replacement with minimally invasive techniques without using tourniquet, which is the cutting edge for joint replacement surgeries.

He is among few surgeon in India who perform, Minimally invasive (DAA) total hip replacement surgeries, which is the most advanced method of performing Total hip replacement surgery.

KDAH experience

Dr Sandeep Wasnik is a Leading minimally invasive Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital since July 2018. He exclusively does minimally invasive Primary as well as Complex Revision Joint Replacement Surgeries. These are performed in a minimally invasive manner with a very small incision, and not cutting any muscle at all which allows speedy recovery in patients. The average length of hospital stay in single knee replacement is 2 days and for both knee its 4 to 5 days.

Over the last seven years he had performed more than 5000 Joint Replacement Surgeries at Kokilaben Hospital, out of which 4200 are Total Knee Replacements (TKR) and 800 are Total Hip Replacement (THR) operations.

In last one year he has performed more than 800 robotic assisted total knee replacement surgeries.

98% of patients are pain free and satisfied with the range of movements they achieve after the Joint Replacement Surgery. The postoperative infection rate is 0.2% (2 in 1000) which is well within the international benchmark of less than 1% (10 in 1000)

He has done many national and international presentations in field of Joint Replacement Surgery. He has done many international publications in field of Knee Replacement surgeries. He is the reviewer for Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, International Journal of Sport Medicine (NY, USA) and Journal of Evolution of Medical and Dental Sciences.

He is a faculty for joint replacement surgeries, and has delivered many lectures in national and international conferences
