Biography

Dr. Jigyasha Sinha is an experienced and highly enthusiastic pediatric neurologist and was associated with the institute of neurosciences Kolkata as consultant and head in the past. after completing her MBBS and MD Pediatrics, she did her post doctoral fellowship in pediatric neurology and epilepsy from Mumbai and has done an advanced training in pediatric neurology from Vrije University, Amsterdam, Netherlands. She had the opportunity to gain experience in white matter disorders in children under the guidance of Prof. Marjo Van Der Knaap and Prof. Dr. Nicole wolf. She has special interest in pediatric white matter disorders, movement disorders and epilepsy. She is the member of various national and international neurological and pediatric societies. She deals with all types of pediatric neurological and developmental disorders. She is involved in research and academics and is always keen in finding light in the darkness.

Represented India in global leukodystrophy initiative 2022, won 2nd prize in platform presentation in Neuropedicon 2015, member of expert committee for consensus guidelines on febrile seizure, 3rd prize in breastfeeding program IAP 2012, batch topper in md pediatrics, distinction in MBBS

Dr. Sinha was trained in child neurology at Mumbai and Netherlands. Her focus has been on pediatric movement disorders, white matter disorders, epilepsy and autism. A part of her training has been at the VUMC Amsterdam where she gained insight to the therapeutic and research development in the child neurology world. She has been associated with institute of neurosciences Kolkata as the consultant and head of pediatric neurology department before joining KDAH. She has also worked at NH, woodlands and the institute of child health hospital earlier. Being the member of various national and international pediatric and neurological societies and having in depth experience in this field she caters to patients with complex pediatric neurological disorders and has many successful stories added to her name.

Dr. Jigyasha Sinha is a keen Academician and has been a faculty speaker in various national and international conferences.

She has also conducted ketogenic diet workshop at a national child neurology conference.

Having ardent interest in leukodystrophy she has worked on a special genetic mechanism of Pelizaeus Merzbacher disease with prof. Nicole wolf.

She was a part of the AOCN expert committee on formulation of consensus guidelines foe febrile seizures.

She has done various publications and written a book chapter titled “the handbook of neuromodulation”; chapter 26; epilepsy – evolution in classification, medical to surgical management.
