Biography

My decision to pursue subspecialty training in Plastic & reconstructive surgery was built upon over a time. During residency program at Grant Medical College, Mumbai, I had no doubt that the practice of Plastic & reconstructive surgery provides one of the most professionally gratifying experiences. It offers a challenge of caring for patients and requires great discipline. As my training progressed, I came to full understanding of our essential role in the multidisciplinary surgical team as consultants, medical experts and educators. In our country there is great need of those with expert skills in the oncology field as there is increased prevalence of cancer patients particularly head and neck and breast cancer. I acquired good experience and skills in microvascular reconstructive surgery and oncological reconstruction during my fellowship. As a reconstructive surgeon, my goal is to restore the function and aesthesis to the maximum achievable level and help the patients in this battle against cancer.
