I am 76 years old, originally from Madagascar. My name is Randimbiarison Honne.I was in total despair when I was diagnosed with an aneurysm of the abdominal aortic artery in Madagascar. I consulted all the major hospitals in Antananarivo, but no one wanted to take the responsibility for performing surgery on a 75-year-old man, fearing he would not survive open surgery.
A medical evacuation was arranged, and I was sent to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, one of the most advanced hospitals in the world, where I was treated with the latest modern vascular surgery techniques, under the direction of the renowned DR Vimal Someshwar. The surgery was a total success, despite the damage to my liver, kidneys, lungs and heart. I then underwent an additional procedure to treat a stenosis of the ureters, which was managed by Dr Attar Mohammed.
Finally, I want to highlight the exemplary coordination of the international team, especially the translator Ms Krishna Joshi.
