Infertility Treatment in Mumbai

Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of trying actively. Worldwide, it is estimated that 1 in 6-7 couples has problems conceiving. Women become less fertile as they get older. Women who are able to get pregnant but then have repeated miscarriages (pregnancy losses) are also thought to be infertile.

Infertility can be treated with oral or injectable medication, surgery, intrauterine insemination or assisted reproductive technology. Often times these treatments may be combined. About two-thirds of couples who are treated for infertility are able to have a baby.
At CREF, we recommend specific treatment options for infertility based on test results, the cause and duration of infertility, age of the female partner, overall health of both partners, and the couples preference.

ART has become an increasingly common resource for infertile couples and refers to various treatment methods used to help infertile couples achieve a pregnancy by artificial or partially artificial means. ART involves removing eggs from a womans body, mixing them or injecting them with sperm in the laboratory and putting the embryos back into a womans body by procedures such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Embryo Transfer (fresh and frozen). Other ART options such as GIFT, ZIFT, and TET are much less commonly performed nowadays. ART also applies to oocyte (egg) donation and gestational surrogacy.

There are various treatment options for male and female infertility. After an initial and thorough work-up to determine the cause of your infertility, recommendations are made regarding the appropriate treatment options that would increase your chances of conceiving. The various treatment options offered by reproductive endocrinologists include:
