The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a quaternary level critical care service at Kokilaben Hospital is located on the 8 floor and is spread over 4000 sq feet area.. Each cubicle has windows, providing natural light to every bedside.
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed, family-centred, regional referral centre for paediatric intensive care. The unit is staffed by a full-time paediatric intensivist and paediatric critical care nurses, each certified in Paediatric Advanced Life Support. Paediatric specialists, in various medical and surgical specialties, are available for immediate consultation.
The PICU staff is especially sensitive to the needs of both children and parents. To help ease the stress that illness and medical emergencies cause for families, the unit provides facilities for one parent to remain with their child overnight.
