The division of Neurophysiology is operational since the inception of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and is one of the best centres in Mumbai. It offers a wide range of tests to diagnose neurological problems.
The Electroencephalography lab has 2 EEG machines, 1 OPD and 1 portable machine for the ICU patients for convenient bedside monitoring; a video telemetry (2-bedded unit) which is 24/7 staffed with skilled technicians and trained nurses.
We also have a state of the art intraoperative 124 channel EEG machine for monitoring of complex epilepsy surgeries. We also perform intraoperative electrocorticography and cortical stimulation for eloquent area mapping frequently. Thus with these techniques and an integrated team approach we have an excellent seizure free outcome post epilepsy surgeries.
The Neurophysiology Department performs a broad range of diagnostic procedures.
Critical care EEG monitoring, Long term video telemetry for cases of refractory epilepsy, Stereo EEG technique and interpretation for non lesional epilepsies, techniques of intraoperative EEG monitoring used in tumour resections and epilepsy surgeries and intraoperative spinal monitoring, EMG/nerve conuction studies for adults and children, Complex nerve injuries in trauma patients.
