Description
Routine:
Ensure proper processing and analysis of Next Generation Sequencing test samples as per standard Operating Procedure guidelines and as requested by the clinicians.
Be alert to functioning of Next generation sequencing testes/ samples are analyzed as per the accreditation requirements of NABL and CAP, to achieve highest quality standards.
Ensure all Next Generation Sequencing tests/ samples are analyzed as per the accreditation requirements of NABL and CAP, to achieve highest quality standards.
Ensure that computational recourses of sequencing facility is maintained with regular back-up process according to the set protocol.
Standardize and optimize the Next Generation sequencing data analysis pipeline to work in without any interventions.
Ensure that TAT is maintained by timely preparation and release of reports and that the critical reports to the relevant personal in a timely manner.
Keep track of Software/Database/ and place order/ Renew license as per requirements.
Out –sourcing of tests that are not performed in-House to appropriate laboratories and timely dispatch of reports.
Maintain a high level of confidence in the test results. Identify new sequencing tests to be added and ensure proper standardization and validation of these test analysis and results.
 
 
Quality:
Ensure that all quality control activities are performed as per recommended ACMG/CAP and cross check with expected values to make sure the benchmark.
Understand and comply with the laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance policies and procedures for Bioinformatics Analysis.
 
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure up-keep of Computational Facility by looking after daily, weekly and periodic maintenance procedures so that all Data/ software/Database operational and ready for use.
Up-date and maintain the maintenance log-book and monitor mainly maintenance schedule by ensuring that all computer facility would be available during the servicing and break- downs.
 
Patient Management:  
Maintain Patient confidentiality
Attend to all patient queries and complaints and solve them.
To be sensitive about the patient’s needs and perform duties to his utmost satisfaction.
To coordinate activities between patients, laboratory and clinicians.
 
Training: 
To keep yourself updated to latest developments in the Sequencing and Bioinformatics field 
Provide practical training to small groups within area of expertise
 
Periodic:
Look after the general up-keep and maintenance requirement of the Computational facility and Bioinformatics analysis.
Up-date analyzing methodology and revise SOP to keep pace with changing technology.
 Administrative:
Prepare document as per requirement of audits for accreditation
Control the computational inventory management and documentation and Co-ordinate with the purchase department to ensure that there is no stock out situation.
Occasional:
Trouble shooting of pipeline/software as and when required.
 
General:
Interact in a professional manner with doctors, nurses and other personnel.
Undertake all other duties at a comparable level of responsibility as required from time to time
Demonstrate responsibility, accountability and high levels of independence whilst following the department’s protocols and procedures.
Keep record of attendance of attendants and cleaners on daily basis and to communicate any form of absence according to department’s absence reporting procedure.
 
 
Take up any additional; responsibility as directed by HOD, Lab manager.
Report any disciplinary issues to the HOD and Laboratory Manager.
