Description
  • Considerable knowledge of cardiovascular principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment involved in the performance of 2D Echo, Stress test & ECG.
  • Ability to set priorities and respond appropriately to actual and/or potential life threatening situations.
  • To coordinate and participate in a variety of duties involved in the operation and maintenance of 2D Echo, Stress Test, ECG equipment.
  • To be part of Quality Improvement Initiative & protocols of the organization.
 
2D Echo Test:
  • To perform echocardiography to obtain and record two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist physician in the diagnosis of cardiac malfunctions, malformations and abnormalities. 
  • To provide a preliminary diagnostic report to physician and preliminary tracing interpretation. 
  • To record results of procedures on paper and c. d.
  • To assist with scheduling patients for 2 D Echo.
  • To ensure that all equipments are in optimum working condition.
  • To maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies.
  • To maintain patient registers.
  • To maintain professional conduct, good communication skills, and confidentiality in the care of patients. 
 
Stress Test:
  • To perform Stress test to obtain and record resting and stress ECGs to assist physician in the diagnosis of ischaemic heart diseases. 
  • To provide a tracing for interpretation to physician. 
  • To assist with scheduling patients for Stress test.
  • To maintain patient registers.
  • To maintain professional conduct, good communication skills, and confidentiality in the care of patients. 
  • To respond appropriately to stress test – related emergencies and to initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the event of a cardiac arrest. 
  • To maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies.
  • To ensure that all equipments are in optimum working condition.
 
ECG Test:
  • To obtain and record resting ECGs to assist physician in the diagnosis of heart diseases. 
  • To provide a tracing for interpretation to physician. 
  • To assist with scheduling patients for ECG.
  • To maintain patient registers.
  • To maintain professional conduct, good communication skills, and confidentiality in the care of patients. 
  • To maintain inventory of required equipment and supplies.
  • To ensure that all equipments are in optimum working condition.
