Overview

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, besides conducting various health camps at different locations, also holds several teaching programmes for lay people in first aid, life support and various areas of public health importance as a part of community outreach activities.

Furthermore, Kokilaben Hospital has been supporting the initiative of helping the babies and children affected by congenital heart disorders through the 'Precious Heart' foundation – a social initiative that presents you with an opportunity to save a little heart, and to give someone a chance to live again.

Precious Heart - Save A Little Precious Heart

In India, nearly 2,00,000 to 2,50,000 babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) every year, adding to the already burgeoning pool of untreated children with heart ailments. With currently available facilities and treatment modalities, 75% or more of these children with CHD can survive beyond the first year of life, and many can lead a near normal childhood and life thereafter. However, Congenital Heart Surgery and Interventions are very resource intensive and expensive.

Kokilaben Hospital has been supporting the initiative of helping the affected babies by providing very highly subsidised packages ranging from  1,50,000 to 2,50,000 so that more and more less affording parents could muster the required finance. Close to 4 to 5 children a week are treated by surgery or interventions free of charge.

However, as the problem is so enormous and the subsidy needed is so huge, it is beyond the scope of one hospital to extend this facility to larger numbers of children. Hence, an earnest appeal is made to large hearted individuals and philanthropic organisations to participate in our mission of giving a new life to all these unfortunate children with CHD. Every contribution is a direct and tangible way of sharing your commitment and belief in our hospital. Help us promote the health and well-being of our nation’s children so that they get the bright future that they truly deserve.
